M-Dot x Buckwild – Chrissy (Music Video)

Every so often an artist creates something positive from a deeply negative situation and it turns out to be their seminal work, like Eminem’s “Stan” or Aesop Rock’s “No Regrets.” Boston lyricist, M-Dot is no exception as he puts his creativity into overdrive with his latest visual “Chrissy” taken from his studio debut “Ego & The The Enemy” [Out Now]. M-Dot narrates a comprehensive memoir about a troubled young girl named ‘Chrissy’ who’s life falls into endless turmoil after her failed attempts at fame and fortune. The song highlights the girl going from being loved ubiquitously, to being completely overwhelmed by her own personal demons unable to cope with everyday reality, spiraling into a world of prostitution and drug/alcohol addiction. Sparing the audience of typical ‘Hollywood Endings’ the story ends with a dark, hair-raising dose of realism… Produced by the legend,Buckwild [Biggie, Big L, Jay-Z, Nas] who crafted a nebulous sound that compliments this narrative with impeccable precision.

It’s been an entire decade since Boston’s Special Teamz, comprised of Edo G, Jaysaun and Anti-Hero Slaine have released a full-length project, following 2007’s Stereotypez. With Jaysaun readying the release of Kill Ya Boss this fall, the former Kreators emcee calls on his Special Teamz brethren for “Voltron,” produced by Teddy Roxpin (Black Thought, Mac Miller) Of the reunion, Jaysaun tells us “The fans have been asking us forever about something new so I wanted to give them a world premiere preview of how Edo G., Jaysaun & Slaine form like Voltron.”

FreshfromDE – Aston Martin

With last weeks media announcement of Daniel Craig deciding to reprise his role as Ian Fleming’s fictional marauder 007 [James Bond] one last time, it seemed like an opportune time for Delaware / Boston artist FreshfromDE to finally unveil the visuals for his most successful single to date “Aston Martin” from the recently released collaboration EP “The Ritual” with Dutch producer Roca Beats. For this concept there’s zero discretion as FreshfromDE meta-morphs himself into the incarnation ’00Fresh’ a creative process historically not unfamiliar to him. [See: Fresh Gordon]
“Aston Martin” was directed and edited by Zak Morris, they both shot this video in and around the Miami area allowing them to capture some refined, polished imagery, highly appropriate given the theme of this particular cut as the Delaware emcee embodies ‘Black Bond’ in a setting that wouldn’t be out of place in one of the original movies, expect …high rise buildings, fitted suits, palm trees, and a brand new 17′ Aston, only thing missing is Pussy Galore? Jabee – Rick Ross At Wing Stop

Emmy award-winning Oklahoma City rapper Jabee presents the Kidd B-directed music video for “Rick Ross Wingstop”, the Sebastian Ouhnascis-produced single from Jabee’s new EP Selfie. Jabee’s Black Future album featured Chuck D, Brother Ali and Killer Mike, and Murs’ 3:16 label released Jabee’s 2013 release Everything Was Beautiful And Nothing Hurt. Jabee was already one of URB Magazine’s Next 1000 when his DJ Vadim-produced Blood Is The New Blackmixtape dropped in 2008. His Must Be Nice mixtape collaboration with Terry Urban and Mick Boogie featured Green Lantern, 9th Wonder, Blu and Oddisee. His 2011 Lucky Me mixtape clocked 40,000 downloads. Jabee contributed a track to the official Boondocks Season 3 mixtape, and won an Emmy for his writing and performance in a commercial for Science Museum Oklahoma (watch). Jabee was a vocal and focal point for a leading role in the new NIKE x Kevin Durant commercial “The Baddest”. In 2014 Jabee was invited to Shade 45 in NYC to be featured and interviewed by Sway of “Sway in The Morning” (watch). Chuck D of Public Enemy says “Jabee’s music has the potential to change the world.” When asked about the meaning behind his new single, Jabee said “If I were to ever see Rick Ross in one of his wingstops , I’d rap my ass off.” Jabee will perform September 17 at the Paid Dues Festival, opening for Lil Wayne and Jay Electronica.
